Event Accessibility

The Sugar Sand Festival is a 17-day event celebrated on Clearwater Beach, showcasing the Sugar Sand Walk Exhibit as its main attraction. This unique experience takes visitors through a 21,000 square-foot structure filled with sculptures crafted from Clearwater’s famous sugar sand by world-class sculptors.

The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival provides a hard-surface pathway from the public sidewalk into the entrance of the exhibit. Inside the entrance, there are complimentary sand wheelchairs and motorized sand wheelchairs for guests to use on a first-come, first-served basis. Prior to the use of the wheelchairs, guests are required to sign a liability release and provide a form of identification/driver's license. The complimentary wheelchairs are only to be used within the Sugar Sand Walk Exhibit.

Enhance your Sugar Sand Festival experience beyond the sculptures with a stroll through Pier 60 Park. Accessible via public sidewalks, the park is a hub of vibrant activity, featuring talented artisans and captivating street performers that line the walkways. This bustling area promises additional entertainment for all, ensuring that the festival's celebration of art and community is accessible and enjoyable for every visitor. Whether you're here for the sand art or the lively atmosphere, Pier 60 Park's accessible pathways make it easy to take in all the wonders of the festival.
